Small Business (2020 Style)

2020 has been rough. We all know it. Expectations are different, shopping is different, life is just...different. Hopefully each of you have personal positive takeaways and can reflect on those to remind you that although things can get unexpectedly hard, we can learn that we're stronger than we ever knew!

We've learned a lot, we've grown a lot, and most of all, we've adapted a lot. As you know, Ash and I own and operate not just Bee Farmee, but also Farm Hippie Farmers Market in our charming downtown Main Street. We've literally seen firsthand what 2020 looks like for business. Bee Farmee gained its official brick and mortar headquarters in 2019 and Farm Hippie celebrated its grand opening.
We didn't have much time to prepare as just baby businesses for what was about to happen. That's a lot of one-lump challenge for new businesses to take on. Yet, here we are.

Here's just a few positive lessons and takeaways we've gained this year:
  • The more flexible you are, the more you can roll with the punches
  • We have the best, supportive customers who encourage us to keep fighting the good fight
  • Growth and wisdom most certainly come with adversity

We're just about to close out our first full year in business. We can feel good that we survived, thrived, and continued to move forward with our goals, and we thank you all for your patience and support as we navigate(d) through uncharted territory (I mean, really, can any business say they've done this before?!).
Hopeful is certainly the keyword for 2021.  We're hopeful, grateful, and most definitely feeling blessed.

Bee Farmee and Farm Hippie will always be my happy place: Our home away from home. One of our favorite things about getting to do this with you is the connection we get to have with our local community. We've witnessed the most incredible spirits, seen amazing acts of kindness, and get to experience with all you what overcoming adversity looks and feels like. Now let's just enjoy the last few weeks celebrating the cheer of the holidays and see what great things are on the horizon for 2021.
